TERRI ROBERTS SIAC PLAYER OF THE YEAR AND COACH PEASANT SIAC COACH OF THE YEAR
Atlanta, GA (April 18, 2013) — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released the 2013 Softball All-Conference Team as voted by the SIAC Softball Coaches Association.
Headlining the list of 2013 All-Conference recipients is Miles College senior second baseman
Terri Roberts, was named the 2013 SIAC Player of the Year and 1st Team SIAC All-Conference.
Roberts, a native of Prattville, AL, was one of the catalysts for the defending SIAC Conference Champions, Lady Bears, this season. The 5-foot-9 utility player finished the regular season with 51 hits, 48 runs scored, 10 doubles, five triples, and two home runs, in addition to her driving in 31 RBI's. She also stole 24-out-of-25 bases to help the Lady Bears finish the SIAC season with a 22-2 record.

Patrick Peasant was named SIAC Coach of the Year. Peasant led the Lady Bears to a 25-18 overall record and 22-2 record in the SIAC to win the West Division Regular season title.

Amanda Talley (Pinson, AL)
Kenyah Smith of Tuskegee University was named SIAC Freshman of the Year. The 5-9 junior from Fayetteville, GA finished the regular season with 48 hits, seven doubles, two triples, and a home run, while adding 29 RBI's to lead the Tigerettes. Overall, Smith finished with a .471 batting average and a .967 fielding percentage, playing infield and centerfield for Tuskegee.
Paine College junior Alexandria Taylor was named SIAC Softball Utility Player of the Year. The 5-foot-5 native of Lithonia GA had a .483 slugging percentage, .587 on base percentage, and .823 fielding percentage, while racking up 26 hits and scoring 19 runs for the Lady Lions this season.
SIAC Starting Pitcher of the Year was awarded to Tuskegee junior Latifah Kelly. As the Tigerettes ace, Kelley pitched 126 innings and led the conference with 126 strikeouts this season. For the season Kelley recorded five wins and three saves against SIAC opponents.
SIAC Relief Pitcher of the Year was awarded to Kristin Spearman of Claflin University. Spearman ranked among the conference leaders this season with 11 wins for the Lady Panthers. The junior also struck out 53 batters, to lead Claflin to an 18-6 record in the conference this season.
